Position: Exceptional Junior Software Engineer

Referral Partner: Crossing Hurdles

Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $50$150/hour (based on experience and location)

Location: Remote

Duration: Initial 12 months (with strong potential for extension)

Commitment: 1040 hours/week

Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided)

  • Design and implement complex database schemas to support advanced AI workflows.
  • Build, test, and integrate sophisticated APIs for secure and scalable systems.
  • Develop and deploy authentication mechanisms, policy enforcement, and backend frameworks.
  • Populate environments with synthetic data optimized for Reinforcement Learning models.
  • Ensure applications are performant, secure, and modular, while adapting to unique RL constraints.
  • Work asynchronously and independently with flexible scheduling.

Requirements

  • Strong professional software engineering experience at top-tier startups, quantitative trading firms, hedge funds, or similarly high-performance environments.
  • Proven success in designing and/or leading database schema development.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database structuring.
  • Expertise in API development (creation, testing, and integration).
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Access to a desktop or laptop computer (Chromebooks not supported).
